Billie does not require account creation or login.

Most of this information is stored locally on your device.

4. AI and Third-Party Processing

Some features of the App rely on third-party services to provide results.

Google Gemini

When you use AI-powered analysis features, including food image or text-based calorie estimation, the content you submit may be sent to Google Gemini API for processing.

This may include:

Food photos
Food descriptions
Related nutrition prompts needed to generate calorie estimates

We do not store these submissions on our own servers.

USDA FoodData Central

When you use nutrition search features, your search queries may be sent to USDA FoodData Central API in order to retrieve nutrition information.

Open Food Facts

When you use barcode or food lookup features, barcode numbers or related food search data may be sent to Open Food Facts to identify products and retrieve nutrition details.

These third-party services process data according to their own privacy policies and practices.

5. Local Storage

Billie stores most user-entered information locally on your device, such as:

Profile values
Calorie tracking entries
Water tracking entries
App preferences
Certain feature settings

We do not operate our own backend server for storing your personal nutrition data.

6. Photos, Camera, and Barcode Access

The App may request permission to access certain device features, such as:

Camera access for barcode scanning or taking food photos
Photo library access for selecting food images from your device

These permissions are only used to provide the requested feature inside the App.

7. Subscriptions and Payments

Billie may offer optional paid subscriptions.

Payments are processed by Apple App Store and/or Google Play Store, depending on your device platform. We do not directly collect or store your payment card details.

Subscription billing, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are handled by the relevant platform provider under their own terms.

8. Children’s Privacy

Billie is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

Because Billie does not require an account and stores most information locally on your device, your data generally remains on your device unless you delete it.

You can remove or reset your in-app data through the App’s profile/edit or data management features, if available. Deleting the App may also remove locally stored data, depending on your device and platform behavior.

10. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to design the App in a privacy-conscious way. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. International Use

If you use Billie outside your home country, your data may be processed by third-party services located in other countries as needed to provide App functionality.

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have certain privacy rights regarding your data.

Because Billie does not maintain user accounts and stores most information locally on your device, many privacy controls can be exercised directly by deleting or editing your data inside the App or by uninstalling the App.
